RADAR (Reward And Discipline Administration Resource) is a
web-based application that helps educators manage student interactions in order to provide a
supportive and productive academic environment for both students and teachers. Faculty can track
the behavior of every student in their school by entering merits and demerits, giving rewards,
scheduling detentions, and generating detailed summary reports to analyze their students’
progress throughout the school year.
Originally developed for the Community Charter School of Cambridge by a group of volunteers,
teams of undergraduate computer science students at the University of Massachusetts Boston have
been working with CCSC since 2008 to substantially improve RADAR and develop new features to
help teachers do their jobs. Because RADAR is freely available under the
GNU Public License, any
institution may adapt and utilize this software to suit their needs.
